FAQs
When and how can I send my recording to you?
As soon as you've made payment, you may send your file to us. Either use the same email address that you used for payment or otherwise indicate your order (receipt ID for example). Depending on the size of the file and the email service you use, you may be able to email it directly to us at bhadaway@gmail.com. Or, you may need to use a service like WeTransfer.
How fast will my transcript be complete?
We'll get started within 24 hours of your order. Then, it depends on how long your recording is. It takes about 1 hour to transcribe every 15 minutes of audio. The overall estimated turn-around is about 2-3 days.
How accurately will the audio be transcribed?
This depends on the quality of the audio and your preferences. By default, the audio will be transcribed verbatim (exactly as heard). However, if you prefer and specify in advance, we can transcribe using a smart method. This would involve removing pauses, overuse of words like "um," "so," and "and." Intended words will be filled in where missing, sentence structure will be rearranged and improved to make more sense, etc.
What file format will my transcription be delivered in?
By default, transcriptions are delivered in Plain Text (.txt) format. This is the cleanest, most versatile way to provide text. From this format, you can easily copy and paste to Word (.docx), PDF (.pdf), straight into the WordPress post editor, or virtually any other file type or editor that allows for text, without encoding errors or other corruptions, spacing, character, and line issues. If you prefer that your transcription be provided in another format, you must specify this in advance.
How seriously do you take security and confidentiality?
Very seriously. If you have specific needs for us to sign an NDA, encryption for sending and receiving files, and require that we destroy files after the transcription is compete, we can accommodate.
Do you provide refunds?
No. Transcribing is a very timely and tedious process. There's no "Undo" button for the time spent working on your transcription.
